Play

I think this is the boys' favorite playground.  They had a blast.

Owen caught on to the picture taking really fast.  Cheese!

He is just too much.  This was his idea.

Monkeyface!

MONKEYFACE!!

I was really impressed by Tyler.  They have all sorts of variations of monkey bars at this playground and he did them all. I had no idea he had mastered the bars!

Pinch worthy.

Hailey

Hailey Reed joined our family on Thursday, April 25th.  The boys and I hopped in the car on Friday so that we could spend the day with her on Saturday.  Of course, I had to take lots of pictures.  Enjoy!!

From what I saw, Owen is going to be a great big brother.

Proud parents, Dave & Alisa.

Custom hat by Aunt Sara.  Love it!

Here is your 5X7 mom... hope you like it!

I think this is my favorite.  Baby by Dave & Alisa, hat by Aunt Sara, pic by Aunt Laura... pooped courtesy of Tyler & Ryan, loved by Grandma, Grandpa and big brother Owen!

Sorry Hailey, they were really excited to meet you.  You'll get used to them eventually.

They sure do make cute kids.

Pass the baby...

These pictures don't do her justice.  She is a beautiful baby and I can't wait to see her grow.  So I can take more pictures.  Every single time I see her.  Welcome to the family!!

Wolf to Bear

Today was an important day in the life of a cub scout... moving up day!!  Tyler started as a wolf today and ended as a bear!!

It was a beautiful day so we decided to try for a family picture.  Unfortunately it was a really bright day so we have a case of the squints.

The boys are very involved in our picture taking now and the crazy pic has become part of our routing.  I am very pleased that Dan played along.

Here is my wolf.  I liked the wolf neckerchief and slide.  They are the classic cub colors.  I'm a little sad that he's moved on.

The theme this year is Jungle Safari.  So, Dan and I made a Lion and Palm tree to be used at the banquet today and again at summer camp.  I think we make a good team.

And, here is Tyler the bear.

We managed to grab 7 of the 10 new bears for a picture with the decor.  They are quite a group.

Naval Aviation Museum

It wouldn't be vacation without experiencing a couple of museums... and that we did!!  It poured rain all day on Wednesday so we hit WonderWorks, the Upsidedown House, in Panama City.  It was a little old for the boys, but we still had a great time.  Unfortunately my pictures fell victim to the new memory card.  So, you'll have to trust me when I tell you that both boys laid down on a bed of nails and Tyler joined Dan on a ropes course up in the ceiling!!

On our way out of town, we stopped at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola.  Dan and Uncle Jason had gone to the museum on Tuesday and did a thorough viewing so this trip was just for fun.  I enjoyed it because I didn't have to entertain the boys while Dan checked out the museum.  I think this needs to be our standard operating procedure from now on.  Dan and Jason also got treated to the last Blue Angels practice before the sequester grounded them.  Lucky!!

But, even without an airshow, we still had a great time climbing on, in and around all of the aircraft!

The boys had a blast and it was a great ending to a wonderful vacation!!

Gulf World

On Thursday we headed to Gulf World with Aunt Sara and all the cousins.  Ava and Nora only had a half day of school and this was an educational field trip so it was ok to play hookie... right?  I certainly think so because this place was really neat.

All the kids had to pose with these boards.  I won't post them all, but have to share some.

Look!  All 5 kids and they're all somewhat happy!

The had this large tank with a bridge over it giving you a great look at the sharks and turtles.

It didn't occur to me at the time, but I don't think penguins are Gulf animals... so should they have been here?

Tyler was very exited for the stingray touch tank.

And, then we headed to the shows.  Such fun!!  The first show featured rough tooth dolphins and a sea lion.

Such beautiful creatures.

The actual dolphin show featured the same dolphins we saw in the gulf.  They look like such happy animals.  I hope they really are.

I was fairly pleased with the performance of my camera.  And, I got lots of practice!!

What I am not happy about is my new memory card.  For some reason it didn't save a bunch of pictures including those with the beautiful birds we saw before leaving Gulf World. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to go back next year.  It sure is nice having family in great places :)
